Head of People, Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation
As the Head of People for the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC), Catharine leads the HR function within a heavily regulated commercial organisation with enduring ties to the public sector. With over $70 million funds under management, CSC strives to be the trusted and valued partner to its members by achieving long term investment decisions and guiding informed retirement decisions.
Following a successful career in Recruitment and Human Resource Management, Catharine joined CSC as a HR Business Partner in 2015 when CSC had just merged with Comsuper. This presented both management and staff with a unique set of challenges to integrate two very different cultures, one highly commercial and the other being Australian Government Public Sector. Several years on, whilst there is still work to do, CSC has made great progress toward achieving a ‘one CSC’ with a highly capable workforce that is very focused on providing the best outcomes it can for our customers.
Catharine was recently appointed to an Executive role within CSC and continues to work with her team to deliver both operational and strategic outcomes for CSC. The function itself has had to change to meet the increasing demands of the organisation it serves. Her team has developed strategic workforce and talent management frameworks so that CSC can adapt and respond to the demands of delivering in a post royal commission environment, characterised with increasing levels of compliance and balancing this with the need to become more agile and flexible in the way we work to enable CSC to deliver even better outcomes for our customers.
