Dr Wesley Payne McClendon is Executive Director, McClendon Research Group, Inc. Wesley was most recently Executive General Manager, Head of People & Capability and Chairman, Community Committee at GROCON. Wesley has held HR executive, management consultant, and thought leadership roles in blue chip companies, top-tier consultancies and business schools in Asia, Australia, Europe, Middle East, South Africa, UK and US.
Prior to joining Grocon, Wesley was Group Director, People & Culture at Dar Al Riyadh in Saudi Arabia; Managing Director, Edinburgh Institute in Scotland and Hong Kong; and General Manager, Talent and Organisation Development, Fonterra in Australia and New Zealand. Wesley also served as Partner and Human Capital Services UK Practice Leader, Mercer HR Consulting in London, and Principle and People Advisory Services Melbourne Practice Leader, Ernst & Young in Melbourne. In parallel, Wesley has held graduate business school teaching and research roles at Melbourne Business School, London Business School, Birmingham Business School and Leeds University Business School.
Dr McClendon has a Ph.D. and MSc in Human Resource Management and Industrial Labor Relations from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition and Orchestration from the Music School at Columbia. Dr McClendon’s DBA research was conducted in New York, Hong Kong and Singapore on Leadership, People and Culture Due Diligence in Mergers, Acquisition, Integration and Restructure which will be published later this year. His second book, Strategy, People and Performance is available in Australia as well as the US, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Hong Kong, India and Kenya.
